A naked pair is two cells of a unit left with the very same two candidates.
How it works
If two cells of a row, column or box have exactly two candidates and they match, those two digits are locked into that pair of cells. They can be removed from every other cell of the unit. The same idea works for three cells with three digits — a naked triple.
