The Starfish, or the Underwater Astronomer

The starry sturgeon, or sea cow, is one of the most interesting and mysterious inhabitants of the deep sea. It lives in the coastal waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Black Sea.

Its eyes are located on the top of its head, giving the impression that it is gazing up at the sky. It hunts small fish, crabs, mollusks, and worms, lying motionless in wait for prey that dares to approach it.

The starry stinger spends most of its time buried in the seabed, with only its eyes and wide, upward-facing mouth visible. Its spines and venom glands serve as a defense against predators.
