What is the "Schuman Maneuver"?

What is the “Schumann maneuver” when someone steps on a landmine?

The maneuver involves standing firmly on the mine until your comrades tie a rope around you. Then, a vehicle will pull you to the side.

This way, you may avoid injury or sustain only very minor injuries.

However, there are plenty of problems.

  1. You will most likely not feel the moment when you are already on the mine.

  2. You must stand on the mine on one foot, because even the slightest release of pressure will cause an explosion.

  3. Such mines have not been used for a long time.

  4. There is no guarantee that a vehicle, a rope, and brave comrades will be nearby.

  5. And finally, there isn’t a single real-life instance where this maneuver has been successfully carried out. That only happens in the movies.

Don’t step on mines, guys.
