Tea owes its brown color to tannins and tannic acids - catechins. These substances change color depending on the acidity of the environment: they lighten in an acidic environment and darken in an alkaline one.

Therefore, the lightening of tea does not mean that it becomes less strong. However, adding lemon enhances its nutritional and healing properties.
